Sozo Life Ministries was birthed out of obedience. In the summer of 2014, God instructed then Elder Kysha Thompson to begin a Bible study in Hillsborough, NC. She obeyed, launching Tuesday Life Class at Kutz & Fades Barber Shop on September 2, 2014. As the unadulterated Word of God was taught, the study grew, and the need for more became clear.
Following God’s leading, Elder Kysha was ordained as Pastor of Sozo Life Ministries on November 21, 2014. What began as a Bible study became a church after a powerful time of prayer and deliverance, leading to Sozo’s first official service on January 25, 2015. With early support from Pastor John C. Fitzpatrick and One Love Ministries, God continued to send laborers, and the ministry soon moved to its first location at 200 Cardinal Drive, Suite C, with services beginning February 22, 2015.
As the church expanded, Sozo Life came under the covering of Pastor Brandon Clack of Reformation Church in Memphis. In 2017, God spoke again concerning growth, leading Sozo to expand into a neighboring space. The first service in the new building was held on June 11, 2017, followed by the reclaiming of Suite C one month later.
Since its beginning, Sozo Life Ministries has experienced tremendous growth and impact, including Church in the Park, women’s and youth conferences, community outreach and evangelism, the installation of Pastor Ebony Bryant, the launch of SOZO Next Generation, and the development of an arts ministry. Through it all, God continues to build Sozo Life as a place where Jesus is lifted, the Word is preached, and people are healed, delivered, and set free.
To God be the glory for what He has done—and for all that is yet to come. Sozo Life Ministries is committed to taking deliverance beyond the walls and raising fully developed disciples!
